Nostradamus, Michel de Nostradame (1503-1566) was a French physician and astrologer, who dabbled in prophecy (today, he’s one of the world’s most renowned authors of it.) Not too shabby for a dabbler Nostradamus is most famous for his book “Les Propheties” (in which 4-line poems grouped into sets of 100, called centuries, contain his predictions.) Through esoteric readings, astrology, scrying and documenting his visions, Nostradamus interpreted the future.

In Nostradamus’s days, he could have easily been persecuted for his services as a hieratic, without the protection of Catherine de Medici, the Queen of France. She had great respect for him, as he forewarned her of many of her family’s future events, which proved to be true.

Here are 5 of Nostradamus’s most significant and at times controversial predictions:

1.) Rise and fall of Adolph Hitler

Nostradamus predicted a war in Germany. He referred to Hitler as “Hister”, and described his background and personality to a tee.

“The two greatest ones of Asia and of Africa,
From the Rhine and Lower Danube they will be said to have come,
Cries, tears at Malta and the Ligurian side.”

“From the depths of the West of Europe,
A young child will be born of poor people,
He who by his tongue will seduce a great troop;
His fame will increase towards the realm of the East

Near the gates and within the cities
there will be two scourges the like of which was never seen,
famine within plague, people put out by steel,
crying to the great immortal God for relief.”

2.) World Trade Center Twin Towers Tragedy (September 11, 2001, New York City)

Nostradamus wrote of fire in the New City; flying metal machines (planes), air vessels, and trembling towers. He stated that a King of Angolmois (Terror) (Osama Bin Laden) perpetrated the event. Parallel to his prophecy, the smell of sulphur was evident when the towers collapsed and many died from lung ailments (as fumes were inhaled from the debris.)

“In the year of the new century and nine months, from the sky will come a great king of terror. The sky will burn at 45 degrees… fire approaches the great new city… there will be thunder… The third big war will begin when the city is burning.”

“The king will want to enter the new city,
Through its enemies they will come to subdue it
Captives liberated to speak and act falsely,
King to be outside, he will keep far from the enemy.”

“Garden of the world near the new city,
In the path of the hollow mountains,
It will be seized and plunged into the Vat,
Drinking by force the waters poisoned by sulphur.”

3.) JFK & RFK Assassinations

President John F. Kennedy was shot during the day and his brother Robert (Bobby) Kennedy was shot at night time. Lee Harvey Oswald was charged with the killing of John F. Kennedy but was gunned down by Jack Ruby prior to trial. Was Lee Harvey Oswald innocently accused? Bobby Kennedy was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan, a 24 year old Palestinian who is still serving time for his death. These events are eerily similar to Nostradamus’s prediction.

“The great man will be struck down in the day by a thunderbolt.
An evil deed, foretold by the bearer of a petition.
According to the prediction, another falls at night time.”

“The ancient work will be accomplished,
and from the roof evil ruin will fall on to the great man.
Being dead, they will accuse an innocent of the deed,
the guilty one hidden in the misty woods.”

4.  Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

In his prophecy of the horrific atomic bombing, Nostradamus mentions steel (weaponry of some sort of metal.) The plague refers to burning acid pouring down on the people in the streets.

“Near the gates and within two cities
There will be scourges the like of which was never seen,
Famine within plague, people put out by steel,
Crying to the great immortal God for relief.”

“Intense in torment, an incredible proportion of human lives ended”.

5.  Lady Diana’s Death

Nostradamus described Lady Diana’s shrine as a “temple” (which is on an island at her families’ estate in Althorp – England.)  The surname of Prophet refers to her boyfriend Dodi Fayed’s father (whose name Mohammed means prophet.) Mohammed contested that Diana and Dodi’s death was not accidental; that someone premeditated it (just like in Nostradamus’s prediction.)

“The penultimate of the surname of Prophet
Will take Diana [Thursday] for his day and rest:
He will wander because of a frantic head,
And delivering a great people from subjection.”

I know dogs are psychic, best proven in “Marley & Me.” Marley read his owners minds by being the world’s best dog lol Okay, so maybe that example is a tad exaggerated. In truth, most dogs do seem to have an uncanny sense of timing when a person is in trouble or in need of assistance.  My Jack Russell, “Indie”, somehow always knows when I’m not well, and I don’t think it’s from the heaping scoops of Ben and Jerry’s. Just when I need him the most, he will lay beside me to sleep, resting his head upon my arm.


Indie is also incredibly observant, understands body language, and has an internal clock. But that’s just me, bragging about my smart dog, that doesn’t prove that he’s psychic. But there was one time in particular where I was really stunned by Indie’s abilities. One day, I couldn’t get him to leave the breezeway of my house, pacing back and forth along the lining of the pipes. It took several attempt to get him inside, even treats weren’t much of a temptation for him. In the middle of the night, just before the pipes burst, Indie was barking repeatedly and scratching at the door. If he hadn’t warned us, the house would have flooded in our sleep, causing severe damage. Pay attention to your dogs(s) strong intuition, it just might save your life or that of others. Next time when your daughter’s new boyfriend comes over, make sure that you introduce your dog to get an idea if they can be trusted.
