Most Tarot decks consist of 78 cards, of which are divided into 2 groups – the Major Arcana (22 Cards) and the Minor Arcana (56 Cards, with four suits; Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles.)
If Tarots were an apple, the Major Arcana’s would be its core
These cards represent the physical, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional (strengths, weaknesses, hopes, and fears) and facets of mankind. Some Major Arcana’s depict archetypal figures, such as; religious leader, a maternal, nature-oriented woman, a strong, masculine figure of authority, or a magical, intuitive individual. The illustration behind these characters further symbolizes their specified personality traits, and foretells whether they are a positive or negative influence.
The Major Arcana (22 Cards):
(1) The Fool - Major transitions, movement; whether a new life, home or job. Positive qualities; innocence, trust, sense of adventure, new beginning – taking risks. Being in the right place at the right time.

A time of action, a great opportunity for new beginnings – self-confidence to direct one’s life. One who is convincing, with the ability to talk others into anything – creating miracles. There may be an element of trickery involved if representing an individual.

Commanding power and strength (control). Could signify a business opportunity, pertaining to the material world.
(10)The Hermit – Introspection – seeing things from a different perspective. Seeking the truth. The Hermit is a seeker, a loner and wise (due to spending time in solitude reflecting on issues.) Personal growth – a journey may be in store.
(16) The Devil - Entrapment, enslavement, addictions, constant denial, conflict and resentment. Trickery of some sort, perhaps depicting someone who can’t be trusted. Greed and temptation.

(18) The Star – Hope, healing, peace and harmony in the future. Illumination. Clarity, letting energy flow. This card may represent a person who lives up to their highest potential.
(21) Judgement (Angel) – Final settling of accounts. A big change, perhaps a new career. Leaving an abusive situation. A different way of seeing things. An awakening and reckoning. Card of opportunity to correct mistakes and to start a new life. Destiny, inner calling. Live, rather than exist.

Astral Projection/Astral Travel refers to out-of-body experiences where the spirit travels to astral planes or to the physical world (in this economy, it’s a great way to save on trips while racking up free Air Miles.:)) The soul separates from the body (which remains attached to an imperceptible silver umbilical cord) and floats or flies to places chosen to explore. Astral Projection occurs by choice, while awake or asleep. When asleep, our minds are at rest in a subconscious state; which enables us to become more alert and better ease into astral projection. Most whom have experienced this phenomenon often do not remember it (although it frequently happens in dreams of falling or flying.) Those that can recall the occurrence, often say that their body felt floppy or lifeless.
One of my Astral Projection’s (which happened in my twenties) proved to be the most unforgettable. I walked into my bedroom, and saw what I refer to as a “replica” of myself sitting in bed, reading a book. The replica looked back at me, as though looking at mirror of the same, not shocked, but curious. How I wondered why I had seen myself outside of my body in such a way. Two days later, I learnt that my Grandmother had passed away in her bed, with a book in hand. I was comforted by know she was at peace. My travel was to prepare me for the death of my Grandmother – whom I look just like.
There is are specific techniques to assist in Astral Projection. Follow the guidelines precisely to experience it when desired:
1.) Be Warned – do not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs when preparing to Astral travel. You could end up on bad planes or places where lower negative energies thrive. In order to astral project consciously, make sure that you have control over your thoughts and where you want to go.
2.) Find a quiet place where you can relax and concentrate for thirty minutes (uninterrupted-away from others, telephones, the television, etc.) You may play soft relaxing music or use aromas to stimulate your atmosphere and to help you to loosen up. Switch on a light to focus on, sitting on the opposite side of the room from it. Lie with your head propped up on a pillow, and ask your guardian angel or spirit guides to protect you while you are on your journey and aid you in arriving back home (in your body) safely.
3.) Picture yourself surrounded by the white light of God. Breathe slowly, deeply and regularly- release any irrelevant worries and anxieties. Visualize yourself walking up white steps, one by one with the feeling of being high up, floating, or walking through air. Enjoy your experience and take it where you want to go.
4.) When you want to return to your body, make sure that you visualize moving downwards and counting backwards on the steps as you “land” back into your own body. I highly recommend the additional excellent techniques found in the book “Becoming Clairvoyant” by Cassandra Eason. She vividly describes how to practice the different types of Astral Travel.
